Frequently Asked Questions for Cytisine Tablets

What is Cytisine?

Cytisine is a plant alkaloid with a chemical structure similar to nicotine. It's a medication specifically formulated to assist smokers in their journey to quit smoking completely.

How does Cytisine work to stop smoking?

Cytisine works by binding to acetylcholine nicotinic receptors in the brain - the same receptors that nicotine affects. This helps reduce nicotine cravings and eases withdrawal symptoms, allowing for a gradual reduction in nicotine dependence.
