Doxycycline for Acne

Doxycycline fights acne by targeting and eliminating the bacteria responsible for breakouts, reducing inflammation, and preventing future bacterial growth. It’s often used alongside topical acne treatments to improve effectiveness.

• Take two 50mg capsules once daily, ideally with food.
• Swallow with plenty of water while sitting or standing upright to avoid irritation.
• Stick to the same time each day for consistency and follow the full course prescribed (typically 3-4 months).

• Common side effects: nausea, vomiting, headaches, and sun sensitivity.
• Rare allergic reactions: swelling, difficulty breathing, rashes, or low blood pressure.
• If severe or persistent side effects occur, consult your GP or pharmacist immediately.

• Do not take if:
  • You’re pregnant (after 4 months) or breastfeeding.
  • You’re allergic to any of the ingredients.
  • You’re taking oral retinoids or certain other medications.
• Avoid strong sunlight or UV exposure, as Doxycycline can increase sensitivity to light.
• Be cautious when taking with blood thinners, antacids, or contraceptive pills, as Doxycycline may interfere with their effectiveness.
