Frequently Asked Questions for Livial (tibolone) Tablets

What It Is

Livial tablets are a unique HRT treatment containing tibolone, which breaks down in the body into components that mimic oestrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. Unlike other HRT treatments, tibolone offers a combined hormonal effect to relieve menopause symptoms and protect bone health. This treatment is designed for women who have not had a period for at least a year and still have a uterus.

How It Works

Livial works by replacing the hormones that decline during menopause. It provides oestrogen-like effects through estradiol, progesterone-like effects through norethisterone acetate, and additional testosterone-like benefits to alleviate menopausal symptoms, such as hot flushes, mood swings, and vaginal dryness. Tibolone also reduces the risk of osteoporosis by supporting bone density.

Directions for Use

  • Application Instructions:
Take one tablet daily without a break. Each tablet is marked with the day of the week to assist with tracking.
  • Dosage:
Livial should be taken continuously without missing doses. Once you finish a pack, start a new one the next day.
  • Missed Dose:
If you forget to take a tablet, take it as soon as you remember, unless it’s nearly time for the next dose. Never take two tablets to compensate for a missed dose.
