Frequently Asked Questions for Novofem

What It Is

Novofem tablets are a combined, sequential form of HRT, containing estradiol (a natural form of oestrogen) and norethisterone acetate (a synthetic progesterone). This therapy is used to relieve menopausal symptoms in women who still have a uterus but have not had a period for at least six months.

How It Works

Novofem works by mimicking the natural menstrual cycle, providing estradiol for the first 16 days of the cycle and adding norethisterone acetate in the latter half. This combination helps to alleviate common symptoms of menopause and reduces the risk of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.

Directions for Use

  • Application Instructions:
Take one red tablet daily for the first 16 days, which contains estradiol.
Switch to one white tablet daily for the next 12 days, containing both estradiol and norethisterone acetate.
  • Dosage:
Continue taking one tablet daily until the entire pack is finished. Start the next pack immediately after completing the previous one.
  • Missed Dose:
If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember, but skip it if it’s almost time for your next dose. Never take two tablets to make up for a missed dose.
