Oestrogel Pump

Oestrogel is a topical HRT gel that contains estradiol, a natural form of oestrogen. Delivered in a pump bottle, the gel is applied daily to the skin, typically on the inside of the thigh or the outer arm/shoulder, to help restore oestrogen levels in women who have experienced menopause.

Oestrogel works by delivering estradiol through the skin, directly into the bloodstream, where it compensates for the decline in natural oestrogen levels that occurs during menopause. This helps alleviate symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats, and vaginal dryness. If you still have your womb, a progestogen should also be used to avoid risks associated with endometrial growth.

• Application Instructions:
  Apply the prescribed amount of gel once daily to clean, dry skin on the inner thigh, outer arm, or shoulder. Avoid areas with cuts, irritation, or tight clothing that could dislodge the gel.
• Dosage:
  Each pump delivers the prescribed dose of gel. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.
• Missed Dose:
  If you forget a dose, apply the gel as soon as you remember, unless it is nearly time for your next dose. Do not apply two doses to make up for a missed one.

Common side effects may include:

• Painful or heavier periods
• Abnormal or irregular bleeding
• White or yellow vaginal discharge

Less common but serious side effects include:

• Mood swings or migraine
• Vertigo or dizziness
• Vaginal yeast infections (candidiasis)
• Increased risk of blood clots, stroke, or certain cancers

Consult your doctor if any side effects persist or worsen.

Do Not Use Oestrogel If You Have:

• A history of oestrogen-sensitive cancers such as breast or endometrial cancer
• Untreated endometrial hyperplasia (excessive thickening of the womb lining)
• A history of blood clots or circulatory disorders
• Liver disease or abnormal liver function
• An allergy to estradiol or any of the other ingredients in Oestrogel

Consult Your Doctor If You Have:

• A family history of hormone-sensitive cancers
• High blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol
• History of gallstones, migraines, or systemic lupus erythematosus
