Prochlorperazine

Prochlorperazine is a phenothiazine medication designed to relieve nausea and vomiting. It’s effective for conditions like dizziness, motion sickness, and nausea related to pregnancy.

Prochlorperazine blocks dopamine, a chemical in the brain that triggers nausea and vomiting. By doing so, it helps control these symptoms effectively, especially in cases like motion sickness or vertigo.

Common side effects include drowsiness, blurred vision, dry mouth, headaches, and a stuffy nose. These are usually mild and subside with continued use. Serious side effects such as difficulty breathing, irregular heartbeat, muscle stiffness, or facial movements require immediate medical attention.

• Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Not suitable during pregnancy, or for those trying to conceive or breastfeeding due to limited safety data.
• Medical History: Not recommended for individuals with allergies to Prochlorperazine, glaucoma, liver issues, epilepsy, high blood pressure, or certain blood disorders.
