Frequently Asked Questions for Warticon Cream

What is Warticon Cream?

Farmeci’s Warticon Cream is a smooth, easy-to-apply formula used to treat genital warts caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). It is intended for use on external genital areas only, such as the foreskin of the penis or the outer vaginal skin. This cream is not suitable for internal use (inside the anus, vagina, or urethra).

How It Works

Warticon contains podophyllotoxin, a plant-based compound that attacks the wart tissue at a cellular level. It stops wart cells from dividing, causing them to die and be replaced by healthy skin. Because it targets wart cells directly, it should not be applied to healthy or broken skin.

How to apply Warticon Cream?

Follow your doctor’s guidance exactly. The usual treatment schedule is:

  • Apply the cream twice daily (morning and evening) for 3 consecutive days

  • Take a 4-day break

  • Repeat the cycle as needed for up to 4 weeks

Application Steps:

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the affected area with a clean towel (do not share this towel).

  2. Using a fingertip, apply a small amount of cream directly onto each wart.

  3. Avoid contact with healthy skin. If this happens, wash it off immediately.

  4. Wash your hands thoroughly after application.

  5. Do not cover the area with a bandage.

  6. Avoid sexual contact while using Warticon and until the skin has fully healed

Side Effects

Mild and temporary skin irritation is common and usually resolves on its own. Possible side effects include:

  • Redness or soreness

  • Burning or itching sensation

  • Mild inflammation

  • Balanoposthitis (inflammation of foreskin/glans)

Seek medical advice if symptoms persist or worsen. Rare but serious allergic reactions (such as rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing) require immediate medical attention.

Warnings and Precautions

Before using Warticon, speak to your doctor if:

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding

  • You are allergic to any ingredients

  • The wart is on broken, irritated, or bleeding skin

  • You have warts internally (in the urethra, vagina, or rectum)

  • You are under 18 years old

  • You are using other skin treatments or medications

Precautionary Tips

  • Do not use on skin tags or any non-genital warts

  • Avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes

  • Do not cover with bandages or dressings

  • Keep out of reach of children

  • Store away from heat and open flames
