Naproxen

Naproxen is an NSAID that works by blocking the chemicals responsible for pain and inflammation in the body. It is often recommended to manage conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, menstrual pain, and gout.

Naproxen is used to alleviate both pain and swelling caused by various health conditions. It is particularly effective for long-term conditions such as arthritis and gout, as well as acute pain from injuries or period cramps, by reducing swelling, stiffness, and pain.

Take Naproxen as directed by your doctor. For conditions like arthritis or musculoskeletal pain, typical doses range from 500mg to 1g per day, split into two doses. For gout, start with 750mg and reduce to 250mg every 8 hours as needed. It’s best to swallow the tablets whole with water after food to prevent stomach irritation.

Common side effects include stomach discomfort, headaches, dizziness, and indigestion. Rare but more serious side effects may include gastrointestinal bleeding, liver issues, or allergic reactions such as trouble breathing or swelling.
